A New View: RPRC’s Future Spaces Come Into Focus by BoostBC

Progress continues at an exciting pace on the RPRC project, with several major construction milestones now clearly visible throughout the site.

One of the most noticeable developments is in the administration area, where crews are actively erecting structural steel. This marks a significant step forward in the building process, as the framework begins to define the future shape and scale of the facility. Seeing the structure rise out of the ground provides a tangible glimpse of what the completed recreation centre will look like.

Work is also advancing on important infrastructure behind the scenes. Crews are currently welding and installing key sections of the creek diversion piping system. This work will play a vital role in supporting future phases of the Mill Creek restoration project, helping to balance environmental stewardship with the construction of a modern community facility.

Inside the building, progress continues on the main floor.

Electricians are busy installing conduit within the fitness slab located above the multipurpose space. These systems will support the electrical needs of future fitness and recreation programming while preparing the facility for the next stages of construction.

Perhaps most exciting for future visitors is the growing ability to visualize the completed spaces. From the informal gathering area on the main floor, visitors can now look down and see the lap and leisure pools beginning to take shape below. What was once a construction site is increasingly resembling the vibrant recreation hub that residents will one day enjoy.

Every week brings visible changes to the project, and each milestone moves the RPRC one step closer to becoming a dynamic space for fitness, recreation, wellness, and community connection. As construction continues, the future of this exciting facility is coming into focus, offering a preview of the experiences and opportunities it will provide for generations to come.
